Check out some of our most commonly asked questions. If you have one that isn’t covered here, please contact us at support@givealittle.co.nz

Q. What are the advantages of giving online compared to other methods?

A Giving online is a simple, cost-effective channel for charities, non-profits, community groups and personal fundraisers to get the support they need. This means your donation goes further. Organisations incur large costs to fundraise including advertising, marketing and employing the services of professional fundraisers and telemarketers. Often your donation is used to pay for these costs (in some cases 30 – 80% of your donation).

Givealittle provides a searchable database for you to easily compare different charitable organisations, causes and events all in one place. Organisations and fundraisers have free access to a secure donation payment system, online exposure and a rapidly growing donor pool.

Q. Does Givealittle charge for any of its services?

All donations and pledges received through Givealittle are charged a flat 5% + GST service fee. This service fee covers administration, processing and receipting.

Q. If my Givealittle donation incurs fees, even if they are low, why not donate directly to the organisation?

A Online donations are usually the most cost effective method of giving money to an organisation. When donating directly to a charity or non-profit, there are still fees associated with processing your credit card payment or cheque. Givealittle does not charge organisations for requesting donations and providing donor receipts, therefore organisations are immediately saving time and costs associated with soliciting street donations, mailing and postage costs and advertising. Givealittle transfers donations directly to the organisation’s bank account each month, completing the free end to end donation process.

Q. How do I become a Givealittle member?

A Joining Givealittle is easy. The My Givealittle registration process simply needs your email address, a user name and password. You don’t need to be a member to donate, but you will need to be a member to fundraise for a cause.

Q. Do I need to live in New Zealand to become a member?

A No, you can become a Givealittle member anywhere in the world. If you don’t have a New Zealand bank account, we’ll need your PayPal details.

Q. Is there a membership fee?

A There is no membership fee. Individuals and businesses do not pay fees to donate funds to a cause. Likewise, charities, non-profits, community groups and individuals do not pay to create a cause or organisation page and promote it on Givealittle.

Q. What is My Givealittle?
